One of my co-worker approached me and showed me a very interesting issue, In Visual Studio 2008 and 2010 she was able to connect to the Cache database through ODBC drive but she was not able to explore the server objects… After looking into it, we tried several things but nothing was working. We re-install Visual studio re-install the ODBC driver and also tested though other application but it everything was working fine but after more deep diving I finally figure out the solution it was because of the old ODBC driver the Intersystem cache driver that was installed on her machine was of 2003 and there was latest driver was present .. So after installing the latest driver visual studio did not complain anything and she was able to explore cache objects …
So check your ODBC driver version first…….
